Psychometrika Review Process
  1. Upon submission to Psychometrika, manuscripts are forwarded by the Editorial Assistant to the appropriate Section Editor. Authors may specify in their cover letter which section their manuscript should be forwarded to. For more information on the possible sections, click here.

  2. Prior to the acceptance of a manuscript for publication authors work exclusively with a Section Editor, through the Editorial Assistant. After a manuscript has been accepted, authors work exclusively with the Managing Editor and the Technical Editor.

  3. It is the responsibility of authors to remove identifying information from their manuscript. The Editorial Office will try to help in this process if needed.

  4. After making a decision on a manuscript, the Section Editor will send a decision letter via the Editorial Assistant to the contact author by e-mail (preferred) or by postal service (if necessary).

  5. Along with the notification of acceptance from a Section Editor, the author (or contact author) will receive a sheet of instructions. The instructions will list what files need to be sent, and where. This will include any electronic files (LATEX orMSWord files, as well as all original figures and tables) used to produce your final ms. Please save your original graphics!

  6. Manuscripts are published in approximately the order they are received after acceptance, not in the order they are accepted. Exceptions to this rule may occasionally be made at the Editors' discretion. Two notable exceptions are as follows:
    • Articles which require color printing will be delayed until the next available December issue, as December is the only issue printed in color.
    • Short articles may be moved ahead in the queue to fill out journals.
